Caring for Your Bag

Each Pomme d’Or bag is hand-embellished using carefully selected appliqués, lace trims and decorative detailing.

To keep your bag looking its best:

• Surface clean only with a lightly damp cloth
• Do not machine wash or submerge in water
• Store away from direct sunlight
• Avoid damp environments

Lace trims and appliqués are sewn and/or glued securely in place to ensure durability. Beaded details are carefully applied and set, but as with any embellished piece, rough handling may cause decorative elements to loosen over time.

These bags are designed to be used and enjoyed, not simply admired.  Care in handling will help preserve their beauty for years to come.

Handmade & Individual

Every Pomme d’Or bag is individually hand-embellished in small quantities.

While the base bag provides the structure, each piece is thoughtfully transformed through detailed handwork. No two finished bags are entirely identical.

Subtle variations in placement, texture or finish are part of the character of handmade embellishment and part of what makes your piece uniquely yours.

Design & Construction

At this stage, Pomme d’Or focuses on the art of embellishment.

The base bags are carefully selected for their quality and structure, then individually hand-finished with layered fabrics, trims and detailing.

This approach allows each piece to combine practicality with artistry.  Robust enough for everyday use, yet elevated through decorative craftsmanship.

Product Safety & Compliance

Your peace of mind is important to us.

All Pomme d’Or products are reviewed in line with the UK General Product Safety Regulations (GPSR). Each design is assessed for its intended use, with risk considerations reviewed before being offered for sale.

Where appropriate, products include clear guidance regarding decorative elements, age suitability and safe handling.

We also maintain internal records relating to product specifications, assessments and ongoing compliance standards.

As many Pomme d’Or pieces include hand-finished embellishment, they are intended to be used as decorative fashion accessories and handled with reasonable care.

Packaging

Your bag will arrive:

• Carefully wrapped in tissue paper
• Protected inside a clear protective sleeve
• Includes a small silica sachet to help protect against moisture during storage and transit
• Securely boxed for posting
• Sealed using paper-based eco-conscious tape

The additional protective sleeve allows pieces to be stored safely prior to dispatch and offers added reassurance during postal transit, particularly during periods of wet weather.

Packaging is designed to protect your piece carefully while keeping environmental impact in mind.

Dispatch & Delivery

All bags listed on the website are ready-made and available for immediate dispatch.

Orders are typically sent within 1–2 working days.

Delivery is via Royal Mail 48, and details will be provided once your order has been dispatched.

A Note on Craft

Pomme d’Or believes in slow creation over fast production.

Pieces are embellished in small quantities to preserve attention to detail and reduce waste. This is not mass manufacturing.  It is careful, considered work.

The intention is simple: to create bags that are both practical and beautiful – made to be treasured.
