With a burst of unseasonal May sunshine teasing us with a pie-crust promise of a warm summer, my mind took one of its all-too-frequent leave-of-absences. This time, I found myself musing on citrus groves, long sunny days beneath a latticework arbour and the slower pace of Mediterranean living. Inspiration following these kinds of reveries comes easily.
This Lemon Liqueur Gift Kit began with a beautiful embroidered lemon trellis appliqué, and I was delighted to discover that it fitted neatly between the seams of the jute bottle bag. The appliqué came with a heat-activated backing, but jute is a fickle friend – wonderful to work with in many ways, yet somewhat tetchy when it comes to iron-on patches. For added durability, I’ve heat-attached it and then hand stitched it securely into place.
The glass bottle, with its flat sides, was a delight to embellish. The finished infusions take on a gentle lemon hue, so the vinyl colour was chosen to complement that subtle warmth rather than shout for attention.
One of my favourite aspects of this kit is that the recipient can choose their own path. The leaflet includes a traditional sweet lemon liqueur recipe, a sugar-free alcoholic infusion and a non-alcoholic lemon syrup, allowing the kit to be enjoyed in different ways. I’ve always loved gifts that create an experience rather than simply being opened and put away.
I’ve called this kit Luca – I hope it brings a little Amalfi-inspired creativity, anticipation and enjoyment to whoever receives it.

Lemon Liqueur Gift Kit – Design & Craftsmanship
Each Lemon Liqueur Gift Kit is individually assembled and hand-finished by Pomme d’Or.
The embroidered lemon motif is carefully secured to the natural jute bottle bag using both the original adhesive backing and additional hand stitching for durability. The decorative bottle features custom-applied vinyl detailing and is supplied empty, ready for the recipient to create their chosen infusion, liqueur or syrup.
The included leaflet contains three carefully prepared recipes together with bottle labels and preparation guidance, making the kit both practical and enjoyable to use.
Because each Lemon Liqueur Gift Kit is assembled by hand, slight variations may occur, adding to the individuality of each piece.
