Woah! Now that colour certainly packs a punch!
The red here is intentionally bold. A real power colour. For me, it represents courage, strength and a little resilience through life’s occasional curve balls. For others, it may simply be the classic colour of romance.
I’m often drawn to softer, neutral tones and pastels, but sometimes it feels right to embrace the energy and vitality of something much brighter.
There are hundreds of tiny stitches securing the embroidered appliqué to the bag, and I’ve added small half-moon red beads to the centre of each flower to bring out the richness of the design. The vibrant floral detail stands out beautifully against the natural jute, while the little ladybird charm adds a cheerful, garden-inspired finishing touch.
Whatever red means to you, this is a wonderfully roomy bag and, once the gift has been opened, I like the idea of it being reused. Perhaps to carry a crochet project or to keep creative bits and pieces together.
I’ve called her Ruby (of course!) – bold, confident and impossible to ignore.
