Is it alright to have a favourite? If so, this might just be mine, at least for now… I can be a little fickle!
Many of my designs begin with an appliqué, and in this case it was the champagne-gold leaves that first caught my eye. They created a beautiful base and handled wonderfully as I carefully stitched them into place.
Keeping to soft, neutral tones, I added three delicate organza flowers, each finished with a pearly bead, and scattered a selection of half-moon gems in varying sizes to introduce a gentle sheen. It became a question of balance, allowing each element to complement the others without taking over.
With its soft diagonal flow, the finished piece feels very elegant. I think it would make a lovely presentation bag for a wedding gift or another special occasion… that is, if I don’t decide to keep them all to myself.
I’ve called her Arabella – ornate, elegant and beautifully detailed.
