If autumn was a carnival, then this shade of orange would be dancing all the way through the season. There’s nothing shy about it – the energy in this design positively bursts forward. I love muted colours, especially for autumn, but I’ll save those for another autumnal design. This one’s going to be loud and proud!
With something this elaborate, I felt the appliqué needed plenty of room to do the talking. I positioned it diagonally across the natural jute so that the flowers and leaves appear to sweep across the front of the bag, while still leaving enough of the jute showing to provide a lovely contrast. Up close, there are all sorts of little details to discover.
I’ve called her Alani, from the Hawaiian word for orange, which seemed particularly appropriate for a bag filled with so many glorious shades of the colour.
