Every now and then I find an embellishment that I know exactly what I want to do with before I’ve even picked up a needle, and these beautiful pink flowers were one of those finds.
I loved their soft, slightly vintage feel and wanted some of the petals to purposely stand a little proud of the bag, giving the flowers a three-dimensional quality. It often takes several attempts at placement to get the right look, depending on the size and shape of a particular piece of appliqué. I felt two pieces worked beautifully albeit not if I placed them symmetrically in this instance.
I was generally pleased with the result, but as is often the way, I continued with a “hold on, let me overthink this”. For this bag, I think that system worked, as I found some pretty pink glass beads in varying sizes to sew on, adding just a little extra lift and detail.
There’s something wonderfully feminine about the finished design, but underneath all those flowers she’s still a good sturdy jute bag – one that I think would make gift presentation rather special.
I’ve called her Margot – soft, pretty and just a little bit romantic.

Pink Floral Jute Bag – Design & Craftsmanship
Each Pomme d’Or bag is individually decorated by hand, transforming a classic natural jute bag into a distinctive piece with character and charm.
The embroidered floral appliqués combine layers of soft pink petals with delicate green foliage, creating a flowing design against the natural jute texture. Some of the petals deliberately overflow the edges of the bag, adding dimension and movement to the flowers.
Pearl-effect glass beads have been carefully sewn amongst the floral details, introducing a subtle decorative finish while allowing the embroidery itself to remain the focal point.
Because each pink floral jute bag is finished slowly by hand, every piece carries subtle individuality while maintaining the harmony of the overall design.
