The maker, Anne-Marie, says…
I find it hard to do simple! This bag began as an idea to embellish just a small area, with wedding gifting in mind.
I found this beautiful pink appliqué, with its soft blossoms and champagne-gold leaves edged in white, and initially intended to keep the design quite restrained. But as always, it’s the finer details that bring a piece to life.
The ruched pale pink flowers, each with their diamanté centres, seemed to call for a little more sparkle. I added coordinating diamanté accents and a light scattering of AB crystals in varying sizes, allowing the detail to build gently without overwhelming the softness of the design.
With the embellishment positioned towards the top of the bag, the finishing touch needed to sit higher too. A delicate crystal bow charm completes the piece and adds that final touch of elegance to this “simple” design.
I’ve called her Amelie – soft, feminine and effortlessly pretty.
